Contest: critique of 1st 30 pgs

Hello, helloooo! Been a while since I’ve used this blog. lol

So yesterday afternoon I got super excited, since I realized I was just over a hundred people away from hitting 4,000 followers. I told the Twitterverse that once I hit 4k, I’d do a giveaway: a critique for one of my follower’s first 30 pages of a manuscript.

Then I promised that if I hit 4k before the end of the day, I’d give away TWO critiques.

Well, you awesome people made that happen–and with time to spare. Woot! So, here are the rules:

I will give away TWO critiques of the first 30 pages of a manuscript(middle grade, young adult, new adult or adult, in any fiction genre). The manuscript needs to be in English (figured I’d just throw that out there, lol). The formatting should be a readable size 12 font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins–this is industry standard. 🙂

And how do you awesome people enter this contest? Simple. Leave a comment here with your twitter handle (e.g., @rhelmsbooks is mine) so I can verify at the drawing that you’re one of my followers. If you’re not a follower, there’s still time! You can follow me–my twitter account is HERE–& leave your comment on this blog post.

Even if you’re not a winner this time, hopefully you guys will stick around after this contest, because not only do I tweet about beer and cheese (YUM), I also give lots of writing tips, publishing advice and more! And I like to randomly do giveaways and contests too. Cuz that’s how I roll.

Plus, I’ve already decided that once I hit 5k followers, I’m going to hold another contest that will be even better than this one!

This contest will close today, Jan 18, at 11:59 pm EST. I will use a random number generator to pick my two winners and will @ you on Twitter if you are a winner. So make sure to look for something from me on Twitter on Saturday! (I’ll also update this blog post, just in case you happen to miss the @ from me.) You have 48 hours to affirm that you’d like to have me critique your first 30 pages — I’ll tell you in my tweet how to send to me. 🙂 If you don’t reply in that time, I’ll pick another winner.

Let the shenanigans begin!

UPDATE: We have winners! @DomesticFringe and @KimberlyFarris — congrats, and thanks all for entering! Stay tuned…more contests coming soon!
